Pray. Thank God for the Christians He has put in your life. Pray that God would give them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so they may know Him better. Pray that they may know the hope of God -> the promises of God.

God works out everything for the purpose of His will. This still amazes me, that God can use me , whatever I do, whether I choose to obey or not, He can use me for His will. He works it out for His will. Not that I need to disobey, because Galatians states that God cannot be mocked, but when I fail to heed His word, His will is still done. I am marked with a seal. I am to do everything for His glory.
Application: Do EVERYTHING for His glory.

Do good to all people when we have opportunity. We will reap what we sow. If I sin, I can expect consequences and discipline. If I do good, I can expect a reward. I must do my best to live for God and to please Him.

Someone caught in sin should be restored gently. That person should not be cut off. He should be counseled and reasoned with. Carry each other's burdens. In a word: pray. Pray for those caught in sin. Pray for their restoration. Do not compare yourself to others. If we think we are better than others, then we are deceived. The only comparison should be with Christ, and compared to Him, we are NOTHING.

God cannot stand sin. When we come to Him, we crucify our sin nature. That is, we put it to death. Our passions and desires change. They become those of the Father. We walk by the Spirit. We produce fruit. We do not become conceited lest we provoke others and cause envy.

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious. They are all about self. Pleasure. Prosperity. Taking the "easy" way. Selfish ambition hits closest to home for me. Sitting in front of the computer instead of playing with my kids. Watching TV instead of spending time with my husband. Making sure I am taking care of instead of helping those around me. There is no room for selfish ambition in my life if I am living for God. I will want only to please Him. By pleasing Him, serving others will naturally happen. (Or supernaturally happen).

Live by the Spirit -> the sinful nature will not be gratified. To live by the Spirit, I must spend time in the word of God. Not just reading, but studying, meditating. I must spend time in prayer. I must be sensitive to what the Spirit is telling, where He is leading me. The sinful nature and the Spirit are in conflict with each other. As a new person in Christ, sin is what I do not want in my life. I want to live by the Spirit.

Our freedom is not to be used to indulge in sin. We are to serve one another in love. We will destroy each other if we continue to "bite" and "devour" one another. Love each other. Don't make cutting remarks. Don't tear down one another. Love. It doesn't expect anything in return. It respects. It serves. Love one another. Serve in love.

Who has persuaded me not to obey truth? Persuaded means the person came in and talked me out of obedience and into disobedience. I must get back in the race and continue to race. The One who called me does not cause me to disobey. He calls for my complete obedience. If it is contrary to His word, He did not aske it of me and will not persuade me to do it. Take hold of God's word. Let it be my guide. Read it. Memorize it. Apply it.

By trying to be "good" and do good things, I have alienated myself from Christ. It is by grace that we are saved. Being justified by law (obeying with the idea that it will be enough) separates us from Christ. Only by His grace are we "good enough." "The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."
Lesson learned and prayer answered: Ask God to show himself through His word. He WILL! (Why do I doubt?!) He wants me to know Him and love Him. It is His desire that I know Him and love Him. It is my desire to know Him and love Him. It is my desire to serve Him. It is my desire to have such a change in my life because of my love for my Savior that Satan can't help but notice. Yes, that's scary. Very scary. It scares me to the core of my being, BUT God is on my side. He will not give me more than I can handle. He will provide a way out. He will be my shelter and my strong tower.

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." How utterly profound. We were not set free so that we may continue to be slaves of sin and of Satan. We were set free so that we may BE free. Christ gives us that freedom.

Paul was writing to Christians. They were enriched in every way - speaking and knowledge.
God will keep you strong until the end.
